Even the best are better from coaching and support

My story

A pragmatic, energetic and straight-talking professional who is driven by motivating and assisting others to grow and achieve success. 

Throughout my corporate career I had a number of conversations with people that went something like this.

“So, you work in HR, but what do you actually do?”

I would explain to them that among other things, the main part of my role that I believe adds the most value, is my ability to coach people and to help them work through and identify solutions to the problems they are facing in order to successfully achieve their goals.

“OK, so what does that actually mean?”

I would explain that sometimes it can be difficult for people to identify and remove all the “pebbles in their shoe” – the annoying and frustrating things that are causing them some pain or discomfort. I help people break it down, identify the pebbles that are causing them the most pain and develop solutions to address them and achieve the outcomes they are looking for.

“Sounds like common sense to me…”

You’re right, it is … so why is it not common practice?

I don’t think I can describe how truly rewarding it is to partner with someone and see them find a way to utilise their strengths, remove their “pebbles” and achieve their goals.

I pride myself on building trust and rapport with my clients and challenging them in a constructive and supportive way that allows them to become the best they can be.
